PRESS RELEASE: 2025 Landmark Award Winner’s Ceremony
An Open House and Award Ceremony will be held on Wednesday, October 8th at 5:00 p.m. at the Cedarburg Town Hall, 1293 Washington Avenue. The Town Landmarks Commission will honor our two Landmark Preservation Award winners:
809 Granville Road (County Rd. Y) – Owned by Dawn Kurz and Danielle Kurz
1219 County Road I (Sheboygan Rd.) – Owned by Travis L. Keshemberg & Ellen Suelflow Trust
Town Landmarks Commission has honored twelve historic structures since the Landmark Preservation Award was introduced in 2004.
“Heritage landmarks are a symbolic bridge between our community’s past and future,” said Town Landmarks Commission Chairwoman Kari Esser. “The Landmark Preservation Award honors sustainability. We celebrate the efforts and investments that both our 2025 winners made to preserve structures built over 100 years ago, choosing to rebuild and renew rather than demolish. Both have incorporated modern improvements and new technologies while staying true to their original historic architectural styles. The Landmarks Commission warmly welcomes our residents and the public to join us and learn about these successful preservation stories.”
Information will be available about applying for the 2026 Town Landmark Preservation Award, as well as ‘historic designation’ eligibility from the State of Wisconsin Historical Society and the National Park Service’s National Register of Historic Places.
Members of the Town Landmarks Commission include Kari Esser, Cecily Bishop, Carol Boettcher, Ray Pecor, Tim Rasmussen, and Eric Utz.
