Town Zoning Code & Map Update: Public Hearing

The Plan Commission will hold a public hearing on the proposed amendment to the Town’s Zoning Ordinance and Zoning Map on October 1st at 7:00pm. The proposed amendment would replace/update the Town’s existing zoning ordinance, regulations and Zoning Map as an exhibit/incorporated document and would change the zoning classification of certain properties within the Town as shown on the Zoning Map exhibit/incorporated document.
This project began with two workshop visioning sessions held in late 2023 by the Town Board, and included review of the different Articles of Chapter 320: Zoning, by the Plan Commission in months since that time. The current Zoning Map will be provided so it is clear how affected properties are proposed to have their zoning classification amended. The Town also published a notice in the News Graphic and mailed a notice letter to affected property owners. The Zoning Code text update is being presented as a repeal and replace of the entire Chapter.
There will be an Open House at 6pm to view the existing Zoning Map, draft proposed Zoning Map, along with the draft Zoning Code text and ordinance. The consulting planner will be on hand to take questions. The Plan Commission will receive public comment at the Public Hearing to be held at 7pm.
The proposed Zoning Map and ordinance are available for public inspection at 1293 Washington Avenue and on the Town website at www.townofcedarburgwi.gov. Any person may appear and be heard regarding the proposed amendments. A quorum of Town Board, Plan Commission, or other Town Committees/Commissions may be present at the public hearing. However, no official action to adopt the Zoning Code update and Zoning Map by the Town Board will be taken at this meeting.
